As tariffs took prominence in the national dialogue between November 2024 – April 2025, Bombora data revealed spikes in tariff research across the B2B ecosystem:
- 3.8x increase in research on “Barrier to Trade” from October to December, 2024, reflecting President Trump’s commitment to raise tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada upon taking office while campaigning in the fall.
- 15x increase in research on “Customs Tariffs” from January-April 2025, with research spiking after the March 2 announcement of 25% tariffs on imported steel and aluminum and the early April announcements regarding reciprocal tariffs and auto tariffs.
- 31x increase in research on “General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT)” during the same time period.
